Developmental Play by Age

Join early childhood educator and developmental play expert, Jill Lerman, for a virtual class focusing on all the exciting milestones and developmental growth happening in your baby's first year. Learn how to best support those milestones with developmental toys. Jill will talk about the importance of play, while highlighting some of her favorite products, demonstrating play setups, and sharing best practices to facilitate and foster your baby's growth and development.
Meltdown & Tantrums 101: Helping Your Child Manage Their BIG Emotions
This class will help parents to ride the waves of their child's BIG emotions without falling in the deep end themselves.
Topics will include:
-Understanding the neuroscience and biochemistry behind our children's (and our) emotions so we can respond in the most effective ways
-How to co-regulate with a child to help them move out of a tantrum
-How to help a child cope with feelings without getting "stuck" in them or losing control of their behaviors
-How to help our children build emotional intelligence and resilience
-How to set the foundations for a relationship where our children feel comfortable and eager to share their feelings with us
New Sibling Prep
In Celebration of National Siblings Day
How to help a child through the addition of a new sibling
This class will help parents support a child or children process the good and the not so good feelings that emerge when a new sibling is on the way.
Topics will include:
-How to talk to your child(ren) about a new sibling
-How to respond empathetically and validate a child's full range of feelings
-How to set up a supportive environment and predictable routine to help minimize the impact of other big changes
-How to set effective limits around inappropriate behavior (acting out) in the context of a new sibling
-How to manage the stressors of parenting multiple children
Potty Training 101
Taught by: Miss Catherine, Early Childhood Development Specialist
No child is the same, therefore every child will not fit into a specific method or way of teaching a behavior such as Potty Training. This class will educate parents on the physical, cognitive and emotional development that is needed to start potty training and what is developing during this time as well. The instructor will explain all the choices and ways you can go about potty training your child and prepare parents with the tools and resources needed to be successful including underwear vs pull-ups, potty vs potty seat, ways of encouragement, daytime and nighttime potty training and much more!
Feeding Toddlers
If you have a picky eater at your table, this class is for you. Picky Eating can cause disruption at meal time and be stressful to meal plan as a family. As parents we also worry about nutrition and growth associated with our selective eater. Learn tools, tips and ways to introduce foods to your little one that may encourage them to expand their palate, clean their plate and make meal time more exciting.
Sign Language & Song
Taught by Lora Heller, MS, MT-BC, LCAT, Owner Baby Fingers
Learn new songs and sing your favorites as you learn signs from ASL to support language development, self-expression, and bilingualism. See the research come to life, as music and sign language both aid in the development of language and literacy; these classes are designed for babies and toddlers who are hearing and Deaf, with and without special needs.
